Cannock Chase National Landscape

ICHI-GO, ICHI-E is a new soundwork set in the post-industrial landscape of Cannock Chase. Formerly a glacial overflow channel, a royal hunting ground and the coal seam which my grandfather spent his life labouring under.
The work takes it title from the Japanese philosopy Ichi-Go, Ichi-E, which loosely translates to, ‘one time, one moment’, drawing our attention to what immediately surrounds us.
Combining my Shinrin Yoku practice with bespoke field recordings made with specialist microphones; hydrophones, contact mics and geophones. This piece was composed in collaboration with Dan Cippico.
Intended as a walking accompaniment, launching in July 2026.
