Field notes was an arts and heritage project, working with young people to co-produce a contemporary response to the Sankey Photography Archive.
For the course of a summer we worked together to explore changing relationships to the (post) nature spaces around us. We visited coastlines, woodlands and heritage sites and enjoyed making collage, photography, sculpture making, 3d animation and sound recordings.
We considered topics such as environmental recovery of post-industrial spaces, mental health, identity and art as gentle protest in a collaborative approach towards place making (a more hopeful future).
Works created in the process were shown in the Field Notes exhibition at Crooke’s Studios during August - September 2024.
